Today has been quite interesting. Marseille is a dirty city. As I was walking tonight, I almost stepped on a bird's wing amidst the trash. As if it had just been torn off of a pigeon. I hate pigeons.
But this morning I had the chance to go to Toulon, a medieval city nearby. First we went to La Ciotat, which I don't know if I already talked about this, but it is a train station that the Lumiere brothers filmed in 1895. The video of the train arriving left the people screaming because they thought the train was going to come out of the screen! Some friends then picked us up and drove us to Toulon, because her father, Elder Causse, was speaking. It was fun to hear him and his wife, the spirit was there from their testimonies. Afterwards, we hooked up with the american girls doing the same thing as us, but in Toulon. Their job is so easy! They have only 5 appointments per week, and we have 4 per day. They just hang out basically. But in Marseille, we have more friends and more fun! Toulon is a very beautiful city with lots of medieval buildings, fountains, and the port is so clean! There is a large military base but we weren't allowed to take pictures. The wind was so strong it almost thrust us into the water! Afterwards, our friends picked us up after their family dinner, and took us home. A short stop at a members house to eat crepes, and voila, the day! I am tired and ready (or not) for another week of work.
