It is done

I am back in the states. Still traveling, but the shock is great. There are little things that surprised me, like that the money is green, that the toilet flusher is on the side, drinking fountains exist, people wear running shoes daily, people understand when I speak English, and the buildings are huge.
There are many things that I miss already, such as the artisan bread in Chateaugiron, consistent architecture, speaking French, people have style, the landscape, walking along the beach watching the waves crash upon the rocks, ancient buildings, giving bisous, the chocolate.
In Brittany I became good friends with a members son who had recently gotten home from his mission. He spoke good English and always wanted to practice with me, which didn't bother me but then I accidentally spoke English to every French person. We both recognized that it stinks that we can get to know really good friends, especially in the church, and then have to live on the other side of the world. I think he is a really mature, cool kid. And even though he isn't really a chef, he is French. On the car ride he was talking about a lasagna he had made for the ward lunch. He spent a few minutes talking about the tomato sauce alone, for example, "I like that specific sauce's acidity and I don't want to add any cream to lose that." Only French people could get away with talking about Lasagna for 10 minutes.
