1. Father is a remarkable character filled with compassion and honesty. He is also the most logical person I have ever known. Since he was but a wee lad he has had 3 wishes, to be obedient, to be in the army, and to be a lawyer. As of now he has accomplished all three. When I was little I said, "Dad, all you like is army, the law and rocks." As a small child, I carelessly emitted "the gospel." No one honors his callings like my dad. On another note, we do tend to tease him about his attempts at jokes. The pun, which according to my Linguist uncle is the lowest form of humor, are favorites. The usual result of such a joke is a silent table while we roll our eyes. Or, my brother's more pro-active approach is saying, "disregard" before he gets to the punch line. We often don't understand him because he is simply more intelligent than the rest of us. Over Christmas break I wanted to help by doing a run to Goodwill. It became very clear that it wasn't going to be a 'quick' run. My dad made me go through every single item of clothing, every book, and every nic-nac to write it on a tax deduction form. Joy of joys as I rummaged through my old clothes and wrote down brand, size, and item description of boxes worth of stuff. At least we were saving money but what a pain. To conclude, I love him and and grateful for the example as a father that he has set forth.

Family First
I will (eventually) write about each member of my family. Thanks to Miranda for the inspiration.
